HMV
The psychology of colour frequency references the music being sign-posted guiding shoppers subliminally.

Banners
Extensive collaborative research was required to resource quotations from inspirational figures to motivate students, visiting lecturers and staff at Manchester's flagship 'City Learning Centre' to achieve their potential. These messages bridged specific cultural, racial, lifestyle and age groups, and were phrased carefully to appeal to those that left pain to find pleasure and also for those who aspired to better themselves. The quotations, displayed within a series of ceiling hung banners, contain additional Meta messages, which were devised to encourage positive action, after consultation with specialist neuro linguistic programming practitioner, Nigel Magowan.

Directed TV advertisement for Duke Nukem, a PlayStation release and scored an original soundtrack with musicians.

Created brand, literature, signage and set design for Lynn Hershman’s exhibition Autonomous Agents at The Whitworth Art Gallery.

Launch material for New Media Foundation Degree (after winning 12 way pitch) designed using space travel reference.

The first web site completed for Sykes cottages, saw them realise an increase from 6% online bookings to over 60% within 9 months (reducing their print spend on brochures too by over 70%, reaching new markets further afield, and also winning the 'Regional DTI E-Commerce Award').

A strategic online and offline campaign utilising print, web banner adverts, adshells, and press advertising for art's client, Queer Up North working with John Malpass and Jan Bradley attracted 1.2 million hits to their site in its first month. Their events were subsequently very well attended !

Great Universal Stores saw the work I had produced in creating Kiss102's new graphic language and subsequently approached myself to help them enter the 'youth market' where I realised a 5.75% conversion rate from the direct mail piece 'Unzip Me' mailer as featured by Creative Review, nearly quadruple the average anticipated, leading to a 17.5 million run DM, followed by a re-branding commission for their online shopping arm Shopper's Universe, working closely with Gary Loran's team who had ambitious plans to generate significant levels of turnover.

Avnet's launch in Berkshire realised approximately a 150% conversion rate - at 'C' level, which honestly is unheard of. This was a multi-platform campaign promoting THE [ReSource] using teaser DM, teaser html emails, pay off DM pieces, membership cards, microsites, virtual tours, telesales campaign and so forth - congratulated as being the most successful ever externally commissioned campaign in Avnet's history, very pleasing feedback, and did the trick for them too !

Creatively I've enjoyed being on panels with designers including David Carson, won design awards and enjoyed reviews by national creative press regularly - I enjoy my practice based work and acting as a professional visiting lecturer, setting and evaluating at degree level through to BTEC, with students at universities and colleges across the North West.

Working for Stuart Worthington I have lectured 'Design Business Protocol' at Manchester Business School, to a course specifically designed for creative business on the subject of business process, taking students through the journey of administrating a project from initial enquiry through to production, inclusive of all the legal details required to help ensure smooth delivery, and protection against potential difficulties.

Since then I have implemented a bespokely designed Filemaker based offline project management system that administrates orders, billings and so forth via email/fax and print which also links through to Sage for accountancy needs. I use online collaborative software; ‘Basecamp’, which has enabled Influence to reach a new level of organisation with relation to workflow and communication with customers and suppliers.
This enables clients to log in and see exactly what stage their project is at, they can view their latest proof, add a milestone to a to-do, comment on the latest round of amends and even upload copy, images and video for us to use.
This ensures that deadlines are clear, content is together with all proofs and discussions available for everyone to see.
